Martinez Named GWC Athlete of the Week

Won 3000 at UH meet

NAPERVILLE, Illinois -- Houston Baptist senior Daniel Martinez was named Great West Conference men's track and field Athlete of the Week Thursday by the league office after winning the 3000-meters at the Houston Indoor Invitational Jan. 30.

Martinez clocked a GWC-leading and lifetime-best 8:29.42 to win the 3K, and also helped the Huskies to a GWC-leading time in the distance medley relay, running the lead 1200 leg.
